WWI boot/fighting/trench knife

 I am in search of information on a knife that I recently picked, It seems to be from WWI. There are no markings on the blade its ony one mark on handle . Can anyone tell me anything about this knife?

It's a common style private purchase knife made by various makers. You can find them with WWI era scabbards like yours, and also WWII era "boot clip" style scabbards as they were still in use then. The inspection mark on the tang is unusual and the belt loop would have had a cross strap with a snap at one time. Nice piece.
